Reflections...
was having lunch alone in the PGP aircon canteen just now, very rare tat i just spend time crowd watching and thinking thru things in a leisurely manner... thought abt the past 22 years of my life, or to be exact the 19 years tat i can remember... lots of past flash-backs, of my childhood, my teenage yrs, my NS life, and my yrs in NUS... i was sort of searching for things or ppl who stand out during these periods of my life...
for my childhood, think its mainly my paternal extended family, ppl i've grown to detest and hate over the yrs as i grew, all the darkness of society can be found in just this small grp of ppl, no wonder i've grown to become so shrewd now...
in my teenage yrs, there's mainly one person, Wilson, my best friend for nearly a decade and the person who introduced me to a grp which i now call a family, HOPE, our friendship stood the test of time and distance i guess, we were in the same class since sec 2 and in the beginning it seems tat its just a friendship birth out of convenience, we continued on in JC as we stay very near each other, we'd have frequent meet ups somewhere near our homes in the wee hours of the morning to share abt stuff, but then things were different at the end of my JC yrs, when i entered a totally different phase of life, me in NS, he in JC, and we even kept in contact when i was posted to brunei for 6 months, when i came into NUS, it was his turn to enter NS but our contact is still as strong, and this comes from the commitment from both of us to this friendship in spite of all our constraints in time, i'm really looking forward to this july when he'll enter NUS, so tat we'll finally be "reunited" again!
in my NS life, too many scums to count but yet a few gd men found too...
in my NUS life, there's this special person i have a strong attachment for, this person has brighten up my extremely dull academic life, u can even say for some periods of down time in my life, this person is the reason y i still hang ard in sch, but well i shd not name this person hahaha have a happy time guessing :P
well all these reflections made me think quite a lot, i have a lot of complaints abt life, but at the same time there r things tat i'm really thankful for, namely the 2 persons i've mentioned, but now i want to put down these dissatifactions and work towards a better future as best as i can. i really need to grow in my gratitude to the Almighty God for His creation of this world and the experiences He has put me thru, some are great and of cos there are those tat i had wished not, but afterall i shd be thankful tat i can still breathe the breath of life and sit in the comfort of the aircon canteen sipping a drink and recollecting abt my life, many others dun have this privilege... Oh Jesus, i want to learn to be more thankful to You for the plans You have for me...
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
1 John 3:1a "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!"
