The wonders of photos...

i was going thru some photos after i've just installed picasa 2 by google on my new laptop, was actually trying to upload some photos, but came across some very old photos from 2002 or so, and was mesmerised by the memories that flooded my mind, those were days where i was much more carefree and felt as if everything was in place, looking at the photos, i cant help but realised how much has changed over the yrs. but well in general it seems to be for the better, like most of the guys and gals all look much better now as they have learnt better fashion and grooming sense, but the sad part was that quite a few ppl who were with me in the NUS ministry of Hope Church are no longer with us, it really pains my heart to see it, but i just hope for the best, that though they may not be with us, their spirit will remain with God.

it was this wonder of photos that 1st got me started on photography, the power to bring back memories in vividness. it actually started when i was in brunei. when i was there for the 1st 3 months, i suffered badly emotionally, and what kept me thru was a small album of some photos from JC times. When i came back for my short break, was when i 1st bought my own camera, a canon film camera with 3x optical zoom, that started me on a shooting spree, both during that break and also subsequently in brunei and back to sg after that. And for my 1st year in NUS, i had spent too much on film and developing that i needed space both for albums and also film etc, that was when i bought my 1st digital camera and revolutionised my shooting, that Sony DSC-P8 camera served me faithfully for 2 yrs before my skills and knowledge in photography demanded a better camera, so in Nov 2005 i finally got my hi-zoom prosumer camera, the Sony DSC-H1.

however after all these yrs i sort of lost the fervour i 1st had for the memories that photos hold, but now i'm more inclined towards the technical aspects of it, with this realisation, i'm starting to reconsider my decision to buy a DSLR, as it only satisfies the technical aspects of it, but it will not be easy for me to carry it all the time to capture memories that will be close to my heart. The best of both worlds, think a very powerful prosumer camera is what i really need now, maybe i shall wait the day where technology becomes that good for prosumer cameras.
